Meet Brian Lake, D.O.
Brian Lake, D.O., completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida, medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, and finished training with a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is double board-certified in both internal medicine and endocrinology.
Dr. Lake, is an expert in endocrinology care. His patients view him as a compassionate and comprehensive physician. He has dedicated his practice to offering the highest quality care for those with diabetes, thyroid disease, and other endocrine disorders (parathyroids, pituitary, and adrenals). Dr. Lake also focuses on patients with osteoporosis, metabolic bone disease, low testosterone, obesity, and other related conditions.
Dr. Lake also serves on the Board of Directors for the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine Alumni Association and the Pinellas County Osteopathic Medical Society. He holds the title of Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University, USF Morsani College of Medicine, and Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is on teaching faculty at multiple residency programs and was named a “Top Doctor” in 2023 by Tampa Bay Magazine. He is also on the committee to write and evaluate the AOBIM certification exam for endocrinology. He is also an invited lecturer at multiple conferences within Florida and nationally.
Meet Kimberley Philip, APRN
With over 15 years of endocrinology experience, Kimberly Philip, APRN provides each patient with a unique perspective and personalized care. She works side-by-side with Dr. Lake, seeing patients independently. She is a wealth of knowledge in diabetes and has vast experience in the field. She provides compassionate, evidence-based, comprehensive care in endocrinology.
Meet Melanie Scala, MSN, APRN
Melanie Scala is an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with a dedicated focus in endocrinology. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Rasmussen University, where she established a solid foundation in clinical care and patient management. Building on this foundation, Melanie earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Florida Southern College, where she specialized in advanced practice nursing and developed a keen interest in endocrine health.
Board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Melanie brings a blend of clinical proficiency, compassionate care, and a commitment to lifelong learning to her practice. Her education reflects her dedication to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care. Melanie is passionate about improving the lives of individuals with endocrine conditions through personalized care plans and ongoing support. Her goal is to contribute to advancements in endocrine health and enhance the quality of life for her patients.
